Privacy Policy for Black ICE: Climbing Heat
Effective 24 October 2026
Black ICE: Climbing Heat ("the game") is made by Paper Vine Games, based in Texas ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you play the game on iPhone, iPad or Android.
The short version
We don't collect any personal information. The game has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your progress is saved on your device and never sent to us.
What the game saves on your device
To let you continue where you left off, the game stores the following in its own storage on your device:
- your current run and any fight in progress;
- your progress: unlocked runners, upgrades, Heat levels, achievements, Archive entries and run history;
- your settings, such as music, sound effects and card-play mode;
- a note that you have unlocked the full game, so it works offline.
This information stays on your device. We can't see it and don't receive it.
Device backups
If you have device backups turned on, Apple (iCloud) or Google (Android backup) may include the game's saved data in your backup, so your progress can come back when you restore or move to a new phone. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under your account and their privacy policies. We don't have access to them.
Buying the full game
The game is free to try. You can unlock the full game with a one-time in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment. We never see your name, payment card or billing address. The store tells the game whether the purchase went through so the game can unlock, and the game asks the store again when you tap "Restore purchase". The only time the game uses the internet is to talk to Apple or Google about this purchase.
Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases. See the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads or use advertising IDs.
- We don't use analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
- We don't ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- We don't sell or share personal information, because we don't collect any.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
If you email us
If you contact us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, don't share it, and delete it once your question is resolved, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.
Deleting your data
Because your game data lives only on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the game or, on Android, clearing the app's storage in Settings. This also deletes your progress. Your purchase stays with your Apple or Google account, so you can restore it after reinstalling.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. We don't hold any personal information from the game itself. For anything about support emails, contact us below.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever starts handling information differently, we will update this policy, change the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the game's update notes.
